Upgrade firmware on 2M 7W bulb from v8.4.0

    in Tasmota Related

    Hi,

I bought some Athom 7W RGB bulbs two (or three?) years ago shortly before the firmware image was changed from 2M to 1M. I've read online that the 2M flash on the bulb means that upgrading using standard Tasmota firmware will brick the bulb.

Where can I find a new version of Tasmota to upgrade the bulb? And, once it's upgraded with this new firmware will I be able to upgrade using standard OTA Tasmota images?

    Many thanks.

After I've upgraded directly to 8.5.0 can I then upgrade to the latest version which is now 10.0.1.0?

You can download the 8.5 version to upgrade directly. After the upgrade is completed, perform a power cycle to reset (turn on for one second and turn off for 3 seconds), cycle 6 times, and finally turn on the power

I don’t recommend this, unless you are a professional, you can only flash the device through a wired way when the device becomes brick.
