Compared with traditional PIR motion sensors, this dual-sensor design provides more reliable detection. PIR is used to detect human movement, while the 24GHz radar sensor helps identify human presence and small movements. By combining both detection methods, the sensor can reduce false alarms and provide more accurate occupancy status for smart home automation.
The radar sensor parameters can be adjusted, allowing users to optimize detection sensitivity and behavior according to different rooms, installation angles and usage scenarios.
This sensor is powered by 2 AA batteries and uses an ultra-low-power design with power consumption below 40uA, making it suitable for long-term wireless use. With the included adjustable bracket, it can be installed on a wall, doorway, hallway, bathroom, bedroom, office or other indoor area.
It is based on the BTHome Bluetooth protocol and works with Home Assistant through Bluetooth reception. Please make sure your Home Assistant device has Bluetooth capability, a compatible Bluetooth adapter, or an ESPHome Bluetooth Proxy nearby.
